Richard Wee joined MahWengKwai & Associates (MWKA) as a partner on October 1 2016. Three colleagues are also leaving Richard Wee & Yip for the same firm.
Wee, who is a trial and general litigator, specialises in sports law, trusts law and civil liberty issues. He will establish and head the sports law practice group at MWKA. He is a member of the disciplinary committee of the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) and of the Australian and New Zealand Sports Law Association (ANZSLA).
Wee is the former secretary of the Bar Council and current chairperson of its professional standards and development committee.
MWKA now has 20 lawyers in the firm. It is highly recommended for dispute resolution in the 2016 edition of Asialaw Profiles. The 2017 edition will be online in the coming weeks.
