Career highlights: Theodoor Bakker graduated from Leiden University in the Netherlands, is admitted to the Amsterdam bar and is a registered foreign lawyer under the Indonesian Advocates Law. He has worked in Southeast Asia since 1984, building up extensive experience over time in direct foreign investment, project finance work, aircraft finance, infrastructure development and general manufacturing investment.
His practice now encompasses insolvency, capital market transactions, structured finance and M&A. He is an international commercial arbitrator registered at the Indonesian National Arbitration Board BANI, SIAC and HKIAC. He is a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.
Theodoor has advised the International Finance Corporation, Morgan Stanley, JP Morgan, Chase and Société Générale on structured products and insolvency issues.
He has published various articles on insolvency and cross-border investment issues and teaches at the Faculty of Law of the University of Indonesia and at the Department of Law and Human Rights.
