Career highlights: Rohan Shah is the managing partner and head of the tax practice at Economic Laws Practice. He received his law degree from the Government Law College of Bombay University and is a qualified solicitor and member of the Law Society of England & Wales.
Rohan is well known for his expertise in advisory, policy and contentious issues relating to indirect taxes in India from a domestic and international perspective. He is also actively engaged in various advisory and transactional issues in the areas of corporate and commercial transactions, media and international trade laws. As a litigator, Rohan has successfully represented a wide range of clients before the Supreme Court, the High Courts and various tribunals. He is the legal expert on the Central Board of Excise & Customs sub-committee constituted by the Ministry of Finance to look into all issues relating to the imposition of excise duty on jewellery.
Rohan has been recommended as a leading lawyer in India for his expertise in tax, TMT and international trade by Asia-Pacific Legal 500, Chambers Asia-Pacific, ITR (World Tax and World Transfer Pricing), Tax Directors Handbook and Who’s Who Legal.
