Anand and Anand has further expanded its trademark team with the hiring of Mudit Kaushik, a senior intellectual property lawyer with over 12 years of experience, and Aparajita Nigam, with over 9 years of experience, as Managing Associates.
Mudit, formerly associated with ZeusIP Advocates LLP and Singhania & Partners, brings extensive expertise in prosecuting and enforcing intellectual property (IP) rights. A graduate of Campus Law Centre at Delhi University's Faculty of Law, Mudit has represented a diverse clientele ranging from innovative startups to Fortune 500 companies.
His comprehensive expertise in IP law spans strategic IP portfolio management, due diligence, prosecution, opposition proceedings, enforcement strategies, resolution of domain name disputes, compliance with IT/internet regulations, customs enforcement, anti-counterfeiting measures, technology licensing, and strategic IP monetization.
Besides this, he has also served on various INTA committees.
Aparajita’s expertise encompasses a broad range of tasks in the prosecution and enforcement of Trademarks, Copyright, and Designs and has substantial experience in handling domain name disputes before NIXI and WIPO.
A gold medallist from NALSAR University of Law, Aparajita has been managing large trademark portfolios for various industries, including automobiles, foods and beverages, pharmaceuticals, rest estate, education, entertainment, and fashion, and has regularly represented clients before the Trade Marks Registry and Intellectual Property Division of the Delhi High Court.
Aprajita has closely worked with multiple government departments for their copyright documentation and applications in respect of computer programmes, drafted internal policy documents to ensure copyright compliance for in-house events of private sector clients, advised on protection of personality rights, conducted comparative analysis of novels for infringement and plagiarism risk, and has helped various prominent dance groups in protecting their choreography.
In the domain of designs, she has extensively worked on ambiguity surrounding graphical user interface. Aprajita has also been active in advising on protection of geographical indications.
Previously, Anand and Anand’s trademark team onboarded Omesh Puri, a seasoned IP lawyer with 17 years of experience, and Ritu Bhargava as its corporate and trademark professional based out of Bengaluru.
