Yash Ashar of Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas is our August lawyer of the month for his role in two recent significant capital markets deals: Adani Energy Solutions’ $1 billion QIP, which is the company’s first equity raise since its demerger and the largest ever in India’s energy sector, and Ola Electric’s $734 million IPO, the largest of the year so far and first ever IPO by an electric vehicle maker in India.

A senior partner and head of the capital markets team at Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas, Ashar is an experienced practitioner in securities law and has an extensive track record advising on a number of capital markets transactions including IPOs, QIPs and follow-on offerings. Notably, he has advised on several landmark deals for India’s leading corporate institutions and technology companies such as Zomato’s IPO, Macrotech Developer’s IPO and two QIPS and LIC’s IPO, which is the largest IPO ever in India. In addition, Ashar advises on financial regulations and various InvITs and REITs in India.

Outside of his legal practice, Ashar is a part of the faculty at Government Law College, University of Mumbai where he teaches the Securities Law Course. He is currently ranked as an elite practitioner for capital markets on asialaw.
