Perkins Coie has announced initiatives to strengthen its presence in China, including the establishment of an intellectual property agency in Beijing, the opening of a new location in Shenzhen, and a move to new and larger office space in Beijing.
The Perkins Coie Intellectual Property Agency (Beijing) will include offices in both Beijing and Shenzhen and will support the firm’s IP practice in China.
The firm’s new Shenzhen presence in the Nanshan district will position it to serve clients in Guangdong province and across South China. Its office in Beijing, on the other hand, will move to a new and larger space in Beijing’s landmark China World complex.
“Expanding our footprint into Shenzhen underscores Perkins Coie’s worldwide focus on key technology markets and serving clients in the technology and related sectors,” noted Bill Malley, firm’s managing partner.
“Clients have responded well to our services in China over the past 20 years, and we are deepening our presence here to meet their growing demand for our counsel,” said Malley. “Our new and larger office in Beijing, along with the new IP Agency here and in Shenzhen—combined with the great talent we’ve added here in recent years—are all examples of the continued investment we are making in this important market.”
