Anand and Anand has expanded its trademark team by welcoming Omesh Puri, a seasoned IP lawyer with 17 years of experience, as a Partner. Omesh, formerly associated with LexOrbis as head of trademarks, designs, and copyrights, brings extensive expertise in prosecuting and enforcing intellectual property (IP) rights.
With substantial experience in handling domain name disputes before NIXI and WIPO, Omesh also possesses a deep understanding of advertising and privacy-related legal matters. His practice includes advising clients on intricate commercial and IP disputes, managing IP portfolios across various industries such as pharmaceuticals, food and beverages, software, fashion, and automobiles.
Omesh is also a prolific author, with articles featured in publications like the Indian Business Law Journal, ASIA IP, Trademark Lawyer Magazine, ICLG, Managing IP, Lexology, and Mondaq. Additionally, he actively participates in raising awareness about intellectual property rights.
The firm has also brought on its team Ritu Bhargava as its corporate and trademark professional who is based out of Bengaluru.
Having worked with Anand and Anand earlier in 2016-17 on the trademark prosecution side, Ritu specialises in commercial transactions, general corporate, IP, litigation and regulatory.
A Gujarat National Law University alumna, Ritu was seconding with Google LLC where she was a part of the Commercial Team (India and West Asia) and provided seamless support to the business units like Google Ads, Google Marketing Platform, Google Analytics, Google Operations Center, India to name a few. She also led the litigation and IP Team at Udaan, a B2B e-commerce platform, and has worked with Ola Cabs.
With Omesh and Ritu, several other professionals have also returned to the firm in the last one month, bringing with them a cumulative experience of 35 years.
