Macau firm MdME Lawyers has hired Helena Kok as partner. She will head the firm’s employment and immigration practice and strengthen the team’s gaming sector expertise.
Prior to joining the firm, Kok spent nearly ten years as an in-house counsel for two of the Macau gaming concessionaires, where she gained experience advising top management in key legal aspects of an integrated resort development and operation, as well as in complex regulatory and employment matters. On the employment side, she has a track record of handling labour disputes such as unfair dismissals and compensation and benefits claims.
Managing partner Rui Pinto Proença commented: “Helena is one of a kind, an excellent lawyer, and a tremendous addition to our team. She will bring to the firm a new depth of experience in the gaming sector, particularly in employment and government affairs. Helena will significantly increase our reach into the local community.”
