Vicente D. Gerochi IV of SyCip Salazar Hernandez & Gatmaitan is our September lawyer of the month for his chief role in Actis’ $600 million investment in the Terra Solar Project. The deal marks the largest foreign direct investment for a greenfield infrastructure project in the Philippines.
Gerochi is a renowned lawyer who specialises in banking and capital markets. He has solidified his position as a key player in banking and finance, acting on numerous significant deals, such as Asian Development Bank's inaugural Peso Bond issue, ADB's Asian Currency Note Programme, and Ayala Land's Homestarter Bond offerings.
Gerochi has also participated in many significant transport infrastructure projects. A sampling of his relevant experience includes advising the Manila International Airport Authority in connection with the completion of NAIA Terminal 3 and acting for the concessionaire of the Manila Rail Transit Line 7 in the implementation and financing of that project.
Gerochi was admitted to the Philippine Bar in 1994. He was a lecturer at the Ateneo Law School from 1996 to 1998. He is ranked on asialaw as a distinguished practitioner for banking and finance.
