Represented Seaspray Shipping in a dispute with government-owned company SAIL, in relation to its obligations to ship cargo under a contract of affreightment. The matter involves important questions of law and interpretation of various sections of the Indian Contract Act, such as the right to claim damages, the validity of the unilateral termination clause, and effect of force majeure.
Acted for an offshore entity in a cargo dispute arising from a Korean shipper's misstatement of consignee details to a local recipient, which resulted in cargo clearance delays and storage charges. The firm is assisting the client in resolving this dispute.
