Overview

A unique firm in the market, Krida Legal is a boutique that specialises in sports and gaming law. Its key pillars are corporate and M&A, dispute resolution and IP. It was founded in 2014 and is led by Vidushpat Singhania, a long-time trusted legal counsel by many of the country’s various sporting boards and associations. For example, the firm is a member of the regulatory commission of the Indian Super League, Sportscom’s managing committee, the legal committee of the All India Gaming Federation, the E-Gaming Federation and the election oversight panel of World Athletics, among many others. Last summer the firm welcomed senior associate Nachiket Yagnik, who had prior experience at DSK Legal

Work highlights 

Represented athlete Manika Batra in the High Court against the International Table Tennis Federation over allegations of illegal match manipulations and corruption. 

Assisted AMPM Fashions with strategic advice and drafting legal documents in relation to an investment from Cactus AIF. 

Defended athlete Vijay Singh before the anti-doping disciplinary panel and anti-doping appeal panel with regards to allegations of a presence of a prohibited substance in the client’s body. This case was the first ever in itself wherein an adverse analytical finding’s validity stood cancelled at its outset due to the sample not belonging to the concerned athlete. This was also the first ever case wherein an athlete invoked his right under an article of the country’s anti-doping rules to seek DNA testing of their sample.
