Prolegis is the Singapore arm of Herbert Smith Freehills. Its litigation and insolvency departments were launched in May 2023 with the arrival of veteran practitioners from Morgan Lewis Stamford. The restructuring and insolvency team focuses on cross-border restructuring and contentious insolvency. It also advises liquidators and debtors in Thailand, Indonesia, and the BVI and Cayman Islands. The firm also has a historical track record of corporate and transactional capabilities.
The team is helmed by managing director Daniel Chia, deputy head of litigation Yanguang Ker and head of restructuring and insolvency Jonathan Tang. All three joined in the spring of 2023 from Morgan Lewis Stamford.
