Represented Reliance Royalty as the appellant in a market-first matter before the tax tribunal relating to the admissibility of central value added tax (Cenvat) credit of service tax paid on erection and installation services and works contract services for the expansion of the client’s manufacturing facility.
Acted for VVF to challenge a demand raised by the revenue department, with the client seeking to be granted exemption from payment of excise duties on new units set up in the Kutch area of Gujarat to redevelop and rehabilitate the area after an earthquake.
