The Canberra office of DibbsBarker is leaving on May 1 to join McInnes Wilson in the same city.
“Whilst we have had a long relationship, it has become evident over time that the Canberra partners have a different client focus and we very much support this move by them,” said Andrew Saxton, chairman of DibbsBarker, which operates as a federation, with offices in Brisbane, Sydney and, up to the end of this month, Australia’s capital city.
A story on www.lawyersweekly.com.au said that DibbsBarker’s partners in Canberra had focused on private clients, insurance litigation, insolvency, estate planning and elder law and government work in recent years, while elsewhere the firm’s strengths were in areas such as agribusiness, energy and infrastructure, financial services, insurance, life sciences, healthcare and property.
In the 2016 edition of Asialaw Profiles, DibbsBarker is highly recommended for corporate / M&A (Wolfgang Babeck and Paul Schmidt-Uili are listed as Leading Lawyers), labour & employment, and recommended for construction & real estate, dispute resolution (Mark Addison, Scott Guthrie and Emma Hodgman are listed as Leading Lawyers) and intellectual property.
