Jie (Maggie) Meng of Global Law Office wins our July lawyer of the month award for her lead role in advising Keep, China’s largest online fitness platform, on its $40 million IPO. Meng and her team acted as counsel on PRC data compliance law. Keep’s IPO is significant as it highlights the crucial roles of legal counsel and accountants over that of the underwriters.
Based in Beijing, Meng focuses on cyber security, data security, privacy protection ad compliance. Heading a team of over 20 data compliance lawyers, Meng provides legal services in sectors such as e-commerce, AI, telecommunications, finance and more.
Meng has served as co-chair of the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) in China, and regularly publishes on the topic of data compliance. With over 16 years of experience, Meng has represented notable clients such as Alibaba, Tencent, Huawei, Microsoft and Baidu.
Prior to joining Global Law Office, she also served as general counsel at AI unicorn company Mobvoi and as chief legal counsel at Criteo Advertising.
