The Singapore funds team at Withers KhattarWong welcomes Daniel Yong and two associates from Morgan Lewis. Yong specialises in cross-border investments across the region, advising private equity funds, sovereign wealth funds, family offices and corporate clients. He covers M&A, fund formation, and fund regulatory and licensing issues.
The new trio joins a year-old stable of investment funds and real estate investment partners in Tokyo and Hong Kong.
“Working alongside our M&A, capital markets, finance, private client and corporate tax specialists, Daniel will help us guide clients, such as family-owned businesses and investment funds, on funds structuring, taxation, funds formation, and downstream investment activity,” said Jeremy Wakeham, the CEO of Withers’ global business division. “Our understanding of each family and fund's unique needs means that our advice is always highly attuned to how they can best achieve their goals."
In the past year, Withers has focused heavily on growing its Asia funds practice. In October 2018, it hired eight funds specialists in Tokyo and Hong Kong, including three partners.
