Mike McClure, the head of Herbert Smith Freehills' Seoul disputes practice, wins our October lawyer of the month award for his work on a high profile arbitration.
McClure and his team, alongside a team from Yoon & Yang advised the Government of the Republic of Korea in defending an arbitration claim brought under the Korea-US free trade agreement. This is the first arbitration award to be issued under the free trade agreement, which was signed in 2012.
Commenting on the case McClure said: "By winning the claim at this early stage, the Ministry of Justice will save considerable time and money,"
