Anand and Anand stands tall as one of the most highly esteemed IP law firms in the country. Last year it celebrated the centennial of its establishment in the summer of 1923. Managing partner Pravin Anand is the go-to name for high-stakes IP litigations, particularly on the patent side. The firm offers the entire spectrum of IP services, from trademark and patent prosecution to its renowned litigations. A notable evolution was the collaboration between its western India practice and Naik Naik & Co to form “Anand and Naik” for a market-leading media and entertainment practice.
The overall filing of patents at the firm is up by 25% compared to the national average of 8%. The firm won 116 lawsuits in 2022. Key partners at the firm are Pravin Anand, Safir Anand, Dhruv Anand, Archana Shanker and Vaishali Mittal. A coup for the firm’s launch of its new digital group was its recent hiring of Ajai Garg, who was a former senior director in the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology. In addition to the digital group offering, the firm also launched its end-to-end branding practice. This group focuses on creation, brand identity, risk mitigation, brand extension by product or geography or category, protection, monetisation, commercialisation to legal tools and advisory for brand valuation and protecting its value.
