Successfully represented Chinese state-owned enterprises Dalian Developer Drilling and COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry (Dalian) in a $650 million shipping dispute concerning vessel ownership rights and registration. The Kuala Lumpur High Court ruled in October 2023 that the clients retained beneficial ownership of the vessel Dalian Developer and ordered Osta Fleet to de-register it from the Kota Kinabalu Port Registry. Following dismissal of stay application, the vessel was successfully de-registered and winding-up proceedings against Osta Fleet are ongoing.
