Munir Abdul Aziz of Wong & Partners is our June lawyer of the month for his chief role in leading a team for a consortium, spearheaded by Khazanah Nasional, in a significant $2.6 billion take-private offer for Malaysia Airports Holdings. The acquisition would mark the biggest deal in almost three years in Malaysia.

Aziz is an experienced partner who specialises in capital markets, M&A and private equity. He has solidified his position as a key player in corporate transactions and M&A, playing a leading role in various notable deals, such as advising PETRONAS Chemicals Group on its EUR 2.3 billion acquisition of Perstorp Holding, and representing Pathology Asia Holdings on the acquisition of a molecular screening and diagnostics services provider in Malaysia.

Aziz has also participated in the corporate restructurings and separations of prominent Malaysian companies that are publicly traded. A sampling of his relevant experience includes acting for Telekom Malaysia (TM) in relation to its internal restructuring that transferred the telecommunication operations of TM and certain wholly-owned subsidiaries to TM Technology Services.
