MinterEllison adds two partners in China offices
MinterEllison has hired two M&A and foreign investment specialists in its Beijing and Shanghai offices. Bi Chen has extensive experience in acting for Chinese state-owned enterprises across a broad range of sectors and was previously with Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer and Fangda Partners. Chris Carr has advised on onshore and offshore M&A transactions and joint ventures in various sectors. He joins from King & Wood Mallesons in Sydney, having previously been with Freshfields in Beijing.
Karli Evans promoted to partner
Maddocks has promoted special counsel Karli Evans to partner in its Melbourne office. She is an industrial relations and employment specialist who works with clients from diverse industries on employee claims, facilitating workplace change and developing labour strategies.
Harry Elias Partnership appoints regional head of IP
Harry Elias Partnership has appointed Brian Law as its regional head of IP to expand the firm’s IP practice in Southeast Asia. Law will establish the firm’s new IP practice in Brunei and will co-lead the firm’s IP practice in Malaysia. He joins from Wong & Partners and brings with him experience in resolving trade mark and patent disputes and anti-counterfeiting raids.
