Allens adds technology, media and telecommunications partner

Allens has hired commercial lawyer Michael Park as a partner in its technology, media and telecommunications (TMT) practice. He brings with him more than 20 years of experience in TMT law, especially in procurement and outsourcing, cyber advisory and regulatory matters. He was the Asia Pacific technology group and head of the Australian privacy practice at Norton Rose Fulbright.

Henry Davis York makes three hires in dispute resolution practice

Henry Davis York has hired a partner and two special counsel in its dispute resolution practice in Canberra. Melanie McKean will be joining as a partner while Megan Knight and Rosalie Byrne will be joining as special counsel. The trio worked together at HWL Ebsworth Lawyers on litigation, dispute resolution and workplace investigation matters.

FenXun Partners hires new tax director

FenXun Partners has appointed Abe Zhao as international tax director where he will focus on global tax strategy, structures and transfer pricing. He joins the firm from Huawei, where he was a global tax director for consumer business groups and e-commerce. The firm has had a joint operation with Baker McKenzie in the Shanghai free trade zone since 2015.

Osborne Clarke enters China market with network with Zhang Yu & Partners

Osborne Clarke is entering the Mainland China market through its tie-up with Zhang Yu & Partners,  a new firm established by Guohua Zhang and Steve Yu. Zhang was a consultant with Osborne Clarke’s associated firm Koh Vass & Co in Hong Kong and Yu was the managing partner of Armstrong Teasdale’s Shanghai office. The team will be focusing on corporate and commercial matters, especially in the healthcare, technology and automotive industries.
